WordPress Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals: What to Buy
If you buy one thing in the WordPress sales this year, buy a lifetime licence. Elegant Themes sells Divi for $249 once against $89 every year, and a one-off payment is the only WordPress discount nobody can quietly reverse at renewal. Every other deal on this page needs checking twice.
Prices checked September 2026.

Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. In the WordPress market the window is wider than those two days: most vendors open early in the week before, hold through the Monday, and a few run into the first days of December. Treat the last week of November as the sale, not the Friday.
It is also the one week of the year when the gap between an advertised discount and an actual saving is at its widest, because almost all WordPress pricing is subscription pricing. A discount that covers only the first term is worth far less than the headline implies.
Where the discounts are actually deepest
Four categories, ranked by how much the sticker price moves and by how much of that saving you keep:
- Hosting runs the biggest headline cuts and delivers the smallest real saving. The discount is on the introductory term; year two is the standard rate. Worth taking only on a multi-year prepayment.
- Themes and page builders discount moderately but offer the best value in the sale, because this is the category where lifetime licences exist. A lifetime licence has no renewal, so the discount is permanent by definition.
- Plugins discount modestly, and this is the category where you are most likely to find a locked-in rate that recurs. Read the renewal terms rather than the percentage.
- Backup and security services discount least, and often not at all. They are also the two things worth buying at full price, so this matters less than it sounds.
Before any of it: write down today’s price for anything you are considering. Percentages are meaningless without a baseline, and a list price raised in October produces a spectacular November discount that costs the vendor nothing.
The three checks that decide whether a deal is real
1. First-year price versus renewal price
This is the most common trap in WordPress pricing and it is worst in hosting. A host advertising a large Black Friday discount is discounting the introductory term. The price in year two is the standard rate, frequently several times the promotional one. A three-year prepayment at a low rate is a genuinely good deal. The same rate for twelve months followed by an undisclosed renewal is not.
Find the renewal price before you buy. If it is not on the checkout page, ask support in writing and keep the reply.
2. Does the discount apply to renewals?
For themes and plugins this is the question that matters most, because the difference compounds every year. Vendors handle it three ways:
- New purchases only. The discount applies once. Every year after is full price.
- Locked-in rate. The discounted price recurs while the licence stays active. Worth materially more than the same percentage applied once.
- Lifetime licence. One payment, no renewal. Check what it covers — on many products lifetime means lifetime updates but support for a fixed period.
Also check what happens when a licence lapses. Most WordPress plugins keep running but stop receiving updates, which becomes a security problem rather than a feature problem. A few disable premium functionality outright.
3. The refund window
Refund terms tighten on discounted purchases more often than buyers expect, and seasonal sales are exactly when vendors add conditions. Confirm the length of the window, whether it covers sale items at all, and whether it covers renewals as well as first purchases. On subscriptions, check specifically whether cancelling mid-term refunds the unused portion. Many do not.
Two smaller checks worth making at the same time: how many sites the licence covers, and how long updates and support are included.
Theme and builder vendors worth watching
Each of these has run a Black Friday or Cyber Monday promotion in past years. That is a track record rather than a guarantee, and the links go to current pricing so you can record today’s figures.
Elegant Themes (Divi)
The strongest pick on this page, and the reason is structural rather than seasonal: Elegant Themes sells a lifetime licence, so you can buy once and never face a renewal. Divi is $89 a year or $249 once, both for unlimited sites, with a 30-day refund window.
The consideration that outweighs price is lock-in. Divi stores layouts as its own builder markup, so a Divi site is substantially tied to Divi. If you stop renewing an annual licence the site keeps working but you lose updates. That argument points the same way as the price argument: take the lifetime licence. Our Beaver Builder versus Divi comparison covers the cost and lock-in trade in detail.
Themify
Themify sells its whole catalogue through club memberships rather than single themes: the Master Club is $89 a year and the Lifetime Club $249 once, each covering unlimited sites and all 42 themes plus the Builder Pro, plugins and addons, with a 30-day refund window. It is the closest thing in the WordPress market to Elegant Themes’ offer, at the same price, with breadth instead of depth.
If you build client sites, read the agency terms specifically: confirm whether the membership includes future themes as well as everything published today.
TemplateMonster
A large marketplace selling WordPress themes, templates, Elementor kits, WooCommerce designs, graphics and plugins, plus subscription access to the catalogue. Because it is a marketplace, licences and support terms are set per product rather than store-wide, so the per-item terms matter more here than the sitewide discount.
Its seasonal promotions have covered individual products, subscription plans and design bundles rather than one flat figure. Check which of the three an offer applies to before assuming it covers the item you want.
ThemeIsle
Themes and plugins for blogs, business sites and stores, including block themes and starter sites, with Neve as the best-known theme. Several products have capable free versions on WordPress.org, which makes ThemeIsle unusually easy to evaluate before a sale: install the free version now and by November you will know whether the premium upgrade is worth buying.
CSSIgniter
A theme shop covering blogs, business sites, magazines, restaurants, hotels and portfolios, sold individually and through a membership giving access to the full range, with unlimited site usage and support for both the block and classic editors on current plans.
Its membership is the case where counting matters. The maths only favours the membership over two or three individual themes if you genuinely need the breadth.
MyThemeShop
Themes and plugins aimed at blogs, magazines, affiliate sites and business sites, sold individually and through a membership. The membership is the part to price carefully, because its value depends entirely on whether the licence covers the number of sites you actually run. Its promotions have historically applied to both individual products and membership plans, so check whether a discount extends to membership renewals or only to a first purchase.
Marketplaces and independent shops
Large marketplaces and small shops run short promotions across the same weekend, usually as percentage discounts, cheaper annual memberships, lifetime plans, or bundles pairing themes with premium plugins.
Look past the headline. A cheap theme becomes expensive if it is slow, rarely updated, or built on a page builder you will later have to migrate off. A maintained theme at full price beats a bargain last updated three years ago. Our guide to the best marketplaces for premium WordPress themes compares the licensing terms behind the shopfronts.
Plugin vendors worth watching
Plugins are where sale discipline pays off, because a discount is an argument for buying something you already need and never an argument for installing something you do not. Every plugin is code you take on: it needs updating, it can conflict, and it can be abandoned.
Before buying any plugin in a sale, check its changelog for recent releases, its stated WordPress compatibility, and whether it keeps working if the licence lapses.
MalCare
Security: malware scanning, a firewall, and cleanup when a site is compromised. The distinction worth understanding is between a scanner that tells you there is a problem and a service that removes it. Cleanup is the expensive part, and whether it is included or billed per incident is the detail to check.
Compare the number of sites covered, scan frequency, whether cleanups are unlimited, and the renewal price. No security plugin substitutes for current updates, strong credentials, tested backups and decent hosting — our roundup of WordPress security plugins sets out what each layer actually does.
BlogVault
Backup, migration, staging and restore, from the same company as MalCare. Backups are the one purchase on this page worth making at full price, because the cost of not having them is the whole site.
Judge a backup service on restore rather than on backup: how often it runs, how long versions are kept, where they are stored, whether files and database are both included, and how fast a full restore finishes. A service that has never been tested restoring is not yet a backup strategy.
WP Rocket
Caching, file optimisation and lazy loading in one plugin, sold as an annual licence tiered by site count. It is the performance purchase most likely to make a visible difference on shared hosting, and the one most likely to be discounted seasonally.
Buy it for the site count you have, not the one you plan to have, and test on staging first. Caching plugins interact badly with page builders and ecommerce carts more often than any other category.
MotoPress
Plugins and themes for booking-led businesses — hotels, rentals, restaurants, appointment scheduling — plus content and ecommerce tools. This is a genuine case for a bundle over individual purchases, because a working booking site usually needs several of the pieces at once.
Check compatibility with WooCommerce, your payment gateway and your multilingual plugin before buying, since booking plugins sit closer to the checkout than most.
SEO, performance and marketing tools
SEO plugins, image optimisation, analytics, email marketing and form builders all discount seasonally. Test performance and marketing plugins on staging where you can: this category is the most prone to adding scripts, duplicating features you already have, and slowing the site it was bought to speed up. Our Rank Math Pro review is a fair example of how to judge whether the paid tier earns its licence.
Hosting vendors worth watching
Hosting runs the largest visible discounts of the weekend and needs the most care, for one reason: hosting discounts almost always apply to the first term only. Read this section with the renewal price in front of you.
Promotions usually combine a reduced introductory rate with extras — free migration, a first-year domain, SSL, extra months, or a discount on a managed plan. Compare the standard renewal rate, storage and visitor limits, backup policy, support hours, server locations and cancellation terms.
Namecheap EasyWP
The cheapest managed WordPress hosting worth recommending, and unusual in publishing its renewal prices openly. EasyWP Starter is $2.57 a month billed yearly, $30.88 for the first year, renewing at $68.88 a year, with 10 GB of NVMe storage and 50,000 monthly visits. Turbo is $4.31 a month, $51.68 for the first year, renewing at $114.88, with 50 GB and 200,000 visits. Supersonic is $5.22 a month, $62.68 for the first year, renewing at $138.88, with 100 GB, 500,000 visits, priority support and a 99.99% uptime guarantee. Free SSL, a free CDN, free migration and backups are on every plan.
Because the renewal figures are published, this is the easiest host on the page to judge a November discount against. Our full Namecheap versus GoDaddy comparison puts those numbers against the obvious alternative.
Bluehost
A widely used host with plans aimed at new WordPress sites, blogs, small businesses and small stores. It is a regular and aggressive Black Friday participant, and also the clearest example of the introductory-rate pattern: the promotional monthly figure and the renewal figure are usually far apart.
Check what stays included at renewal, and specifically whether backups, migrations, email, staging and performance tools are on the plan you are choosing or sold separately.
InMotion Hosting
Shared, WordPress, VPS, reseller and dedicated plans. Its seasonal discounts vary by product category and billing term rather than applying uniformly, so the offer on a VPS may look nothing like the offer on shared hosting.
If the site is growing, weigh server resources, backup frequency, migration help and support response times, and check that scaling up does not mean moving to a different platform.
Check InMotion Hosting pricing
Managed hosting, agencies and developers
Managed hosting moves the technical work to the host: updates, caching, daily backups, staging and WordPress-aware support. It suits business sites, stores and publishers, and it costs more than shared hosting, so compare the actual feature list rather than the word “managed”, which is not a defined term. Our Kinsta versus WP Engine comparison shows how differently two premium hosts read that brief.
If you manage sites for other people, the features that matter are site slots, collaborator access, staging, white-label tools, automated backups and easy transfers. A higher monthly price is often the cheaper option once it removes maintenance hours. Check the limits before buying an agency plan: additional sites, premium migrations, storage, backups and advanced security are frequently billed separately.
A buying checklist for the weekend
- Record prices now. A discount from an inflated list price is not a discount, and you cannot tell without a baseline.
- Find the renewal price. Introductory rates end. If it is not published, ask in writing.
- Check renewal eligibility. Establish whether the discount recurs or applies once.
- Prefer a lifetime licence where one exists and you intend to keep the product.
- Confirm the licence covers your site count. Personal and client sites are often counted differently.
- Check the refund window, and whether sale items are excluded from it.
- Check updates and support duration, especially on lifetime licences.
- Verify compatibility with your WordPress and PHP versions, WooCommerce, and your editor or builder.
- Buy what you already needed. A product you never install is not a bargain at any discount.
- Keep the receipt and the terms. Screenshot the offer page; sale terms disappear when the sale does.
