Bridge WordPress Theme: MyThemeShop vs QODE Explained
There are two different WordPress themes called Bridge. MyThemeShop’s Bridge was a magazine-style multipurpose theme that the company explicitly included in its January 2020 list of discontinued products. Bridge by QODE Interactive is an entirely different theme, still maintained and sold on ThemeForest. They do not share a developer, update stream or license.
Which Bridge are you looking for?
- MyThemeShop Bridge: discontinued and no longer supported by its original seller; do not buy it through an old download link.
- QODE Bridge: a separate multipurpose theme with an active release history and a current ThemeForest listing.
- Need a magazine or affiliate site? Consider a maintained publishing-oriented theme instead of choosing a product just because the name matches.
What happened to MyThemeShop’s Bridge theme?
MyThemeShop released its Bridge theme for publishers, bloggers, magazines and small WooCommerce stores. Its five demo concepts covered default, health, news, sports and shop layouts. The theme promoted featured content, ad locations, related posts, newsletter widgets and a settings panel for colors and layouts.
On January 27, 2020, MyThemeShop sent customers a discontinuation notice naming Bridge among the themes it would no longer sell or support. That matters for a product whose original sales pitch included ongoing updates and compatibility.
If you already run MyThemeShop Bridge, do not remove the theme without a complete backup. Check your current plugin and PHP dependencies, build the replacement on staging and preserve published URLs. If a site is functioning, plan the migration rather than assuming an unmaintained theme will be compatible indefinitely.
Is QODE Bridge the same as MyThemeShop Bridge?
No. The QODE Interactive theme is a different multipurpose product with its own demos, developer plugins and page-builder options. Its changelog lists a September 11, 2026 release, including WooCommerce compatibility updates and plugin fixes. Buying QODE Bridge does not renew or replace a MyThemeShop Bridge license automatically.
| Question | MyThemeShop Bridge | QODE Bridge |
|---|---|---|
| Original focus | Publishing, magazines, content-led websites and shops | Multipurpose sites with an extensive demo library |
| Seller | MyThemeShop | QODE Interactive via ThemeForest |
| Current maintenance signal | Named in MyThemeShop’s 2020 discontinuation notice | September 2026 changelog entry |
| Migration | Rebuild theme-specific layouts and widgets as needed | Different theme and plugin ecosystem; not a drop-in replacement |
QODE’s documentation explains that Bridge Core is essential for some theme elements and custom post types. Review those dependencies and the current editor support if you plan to adopt it; the demo library does not guarantee easy migration away from proprietary layout elements later.

What should a former MyThemeShop Bridge user switch to?
Start with your website’s job rather than selecting the nearest-looking demo. A content site that earns money through display ads and affiliate links needs readable articles, clear navigation, stable ad placements and fast mobile pages. A store adds the need for a reliable cart and checkout.
| Website | Replacement direction | Verify before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Magazine or editorial blog | Publishing-oriented layouts built on a maintained base theme | Article templates, archive controls, ad placement and newsletter integration |
| Creative agency or portfolio | QODE Bridge or a current visual-design theme | Demo dependencies, editor choice and page portability |
| Affiliate content site | Astra or Kadence with a lightweight publishing layout | Mobile reading experience, product CTAs and schema configuration |
| Online shop | A maintained WooCommerce-compatible theme | Checkout, product templates and update history |
Astra and Kadence both offer free themes with commercial upgrades and recent official-directory update histories. They are not copies of either Bridge, so plan the design and widget changes. For a publishing-specific shortlist, explore our viral and magazine theme comparison.
Conversion-focused theme checklist: test a real article page, not only the homepage. Check ad placement without layout jumps, prominent product buttons, author information, newsletter forms and whether the mobile menu makes category pages easy to find.
How to replace MyThemeShop Bridge without losing content
- Back up files and database: include media, widgets and theme settings.
- Inventory Bridge features: list homepage modules, sidebars, ad positions, shortcodes and custom widgets.
- Choose replacement templates: plan article, archive, author, contact and shop layouts before switching.
- Stage the migration: test important articles, forms, ads and WooCommerce if used.
- Maintain existing URLs: changing the theme should not require changing slugs; redirect only URLs that truly move.
- Test reader actions: verify menus, newsletter subscriptions, affiliate buttons, search and mobile performance.
How to identify which Bridge WordPress theme you have
Check the theme’s author and update source, not only its display name. In WordPress, open the installed theme’s details and record the author, version and theme directory. Compare those with the seller’s documentation and the licence in your account.
MyThemeShop Bridge and QODE Bridge are separate products. A similarly named download will not transfer your licence, recreate your magazine layout or convert proprietary widgets automatically.
For a migration, test an article, an archive, a search page and any store pages. List the features that currently come from the theme so you can deliberately replace them. Keep publisher information and article navigation visible throughout the redesign.

Bridge WordPress theme FAQ
Was the MyThemeShop Bridge theme discontinued?
Yes. MyThemeShop listed Bridge by name in its January 2020 notice of themes it had stopped selling and supporting.
Is the QODE Bridge theme still maintained?
QODE publishes an active changelog, including a release dated September 11, 2026. Confirm the current release and compatibility requirements on the vendor page before purchasing.
Can I install QODE Bridge over MyThemeShop Bridge?
They are different products. WordPress can switch themes, but layouts, widgets and proprietary features may not carry over. Build and test the replacement on a staging site first.
Does QODE Bridge include a page builder?
QODE’s marketplace and documentation describe support for multiple editing workflows and required companion plugins. Check which current demo uses which editor and whether the bundled plugin licenses cover your intended project.
What theme should I choose for an affiliate magazine?
Compare article templates, ad handling, mobile navigation and maintainability. Astra and Kadence offer current, general-purpose starting points; a specialized magazine theme may suit a more complex editorial layout.
Choose the right product, not just the right name: compare QODE Bridge’s current demo with the simpler layout and maintenance needs of your website.
