Monstroid2 Theme Overview

Before we dive in, here’s an overall summary of this template.

Monstroid2 is a clean, modern, and highly flexible WordPress theme that can be used for a wide variety of websites—business, commercial, educational, eCommerce, online magazines, creative projects, agencies, construction companies, and many more.

This multipurpose theme was built with a focus on functionality and user experience. It can be installed quickly, and you can customize it to match your style. The template provides multiple homepage layouts, customizable header styles, and several blog layouts, allowing you to create a distinctive website.

Besides, the Monstroid2 theme ships with a collection of plugins to help you build the website you want. Depending on the package and version, these may include a page builder, WooCommerce integration, hotel booking, mega menus, appointment booking, forums, and an events calendar. Check the current product listing before purchasing to confirm which extensions are included and actively supported.

Your purchase also grants you access to documentation and product support in case you run into difficulties. The theme is distributed under a GPLv3-compatible license, subject to the terms supplied with your purchase, so review the current license if you plan to reuse it across multiple projects.

Monstroid2 Theme Installation and Customization Options

When you get a copy of the Monstroid2 theme, your download package may include documentation, license information, screenshots, the theme archive, and other resources required to work with the template. The exact contents can vary by product version.

Before installing it on a live site, create a backup or use a staging site. Here are the basic steps to install the theme:

  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Themes
  • Click Add New > Upload Theme > Choose File
  • Go to the folder with the theme files on your computer
  • Select the Monstroid2 ZIP file and click Install Now

The installation process usually takes only a few seconds, after which you can activate the theme. When you visit your site at this point, you’ll see the default theme layout. It may look very basic, with the standard “Hello World!” post displayed.

Typically, the next step is to install the recommended companion plugins and import starter content, if it is available for your version of the theme.

The Monstroid2 theme has traditionally recommended TemplateMonster’s TM Wizard plugin. Depending on the current package, the wizard may help you select a skin, install compatible plugins, and import starter content. Confirm that the wizard and its extensions are compatible with your current WordPress and PHP versions before using them on a production site.

Installation Wizard

As mentioned above, Monstroid2 may come with TemplateMonster’s theme installation wizard, which simplifies the initial setup.

Once you install the TM Wizard plugin, you can use the installation wizard to install the recommended plugins and import starter content.

Before importing any demo data, check whether your hosting account meets the current WordPress and theme requirements. Use a supported PHP version, HTTPS, adequate memory, and sufficient execution time and upload limits. The installation wizard can check some of your system information, but it does not replace a complete compatibility check.

If the wizard flags a low maximum execution time, increase it through your hosting control panel or ask your host for help. A limit of at least 60 seconds is commonly needed for larger theme and demo-content imports, although the exact requirement depends on the package and hosting environment.

After confirming the requirements, you can select and install a theme skin.

Theme Skins

One of the most useful features of Monstroid2 is its collection of theme skins. It includes a library of pre-made website designs for various industries and niches, making the template suitable for many types of projects.

The designs are visually appealing and range from neutral and corporate to creative and colorful.

Each theme skin comes with custom starter content for a particular topic, along with a predefined set of plugins. The wizard installs the required plugins and demo posts and pages depending on which skin you select.

Some of the topics and industries covered by the skins include hotel, construction, corporate, fitness, fashion, loan offers, furniture, lawyer, restaurant, startup, schools, marketing, gallery, portfolio, magazine, and many more.

If you’re creating websites for clients, this can be useful, provided the current license permits use across multiple projects and you replace the demo assets with content you have permission to use.

Each theme skin may offer a lightweight or full version of the demo content. If you’re on inexpensive shared hosting, the lightweight version is usually the safer choice because it places less demand on server resources. If you’re using a VPS, dedicated server, or capable managed WordPress host, you may be able to install the full demo content.

In my case, I chose the Corporate theme skin with the lightweight version of the demo content, and the installation was fairly quick.

The installation wizard first installs a set of recommended plugins before importing the sample data. After a moment, you’ll be ready to import the demo content.

Depending on whether your site already contains content, you can choose to append the demo content to your existing content or replace the existing content with the demo content. Always use a staging site or make a complete backup before choosing the replacement option.

During the import process, it shows the various types of sample content being imported—posts, authors, comments, media, and more.

The Monstroid2 wizard is faster and more streamlined than the importer in the first Monstroid theme. Import speed still depends on your hosting resources, the size of the selected starter site, and the versions of the theme and plugins installed.

After installing and importing the sample content, the front end looked good and closely matched the selected starter design.

You’ll notice that some images may be blurred, replaced, or watermarked. This is common with theme demos because the original imagery may be licensed only for preview purposes. Replace those assets with your own images or properly licensed alternatives before launching the site.

Apart from the demo assets, the site worked much like the live preview on TemplateMonster’s site.

Visual Page Builder

The Monstroid2 WordPress theme uses TemplateMonster’s Power Builder modular page-building tool in versions that include it, making it possible to create advanced page layouts without editing code. Some current WordPress setups may instead use a different builder or the block editor, so confirm the builder included with your download.

With a visual builder, you can customize individual pages and create a wide range of layouts. You can combine rows, columns, sections, and content modules.

You can control column formats and adjust the layouts you create. Overall, Power Builder provides a broad range of settings for customizing a page, although you should confirm that its current version remains compatible with your WordPress, PHP, and plugin versions.

If you weren’t impressed by the first Monstroid theme’s page-building workflow, Monstroid2 offers a more streamlined way to build custom layouts.

Accompanying Plugins and Widgets

  • Appointment Plugin – Monstroid2 has traditionally included an appointment-booking option, allowing visitors to request or book appointments from your website. Availability and compatibility depend on the current package.
  • Power Builder
  • MotoPress Menu
  • Cherry Projects
  • MotoPress Hotel Booking
  • Cherry MegaMenu
  • The Events Calendar
  • MotoPress Schedule
  • TM WooCommerce Pack

Monstroid2 Theme Support and Documentation

One thing that has helped TemplateMonster stand out is the documentation and support available for its products. For Monstroid2, consult the current support channels and response-time terms supplied with your purchase, as availability can vary by product and plan.

Besides, the template comes with documentation covering installation, demo imports, and customization. Because Monstroid2 relies on a collection of companion plugins, check the documentation and changelogs before updating WordPress or any bundled extension.

Monstroid2 Theme Pricing

Monstroid2 pricing and licensing options can change, so check the current TemplateMonster product page before purchasing. The older $75 list price and the temporary $53 promotional price mentioned in earlier versions of this review should not be treated as current.

The template has traditionally been offered under a GPLv3-compatible license, but the exact terms, included updates, and support period depend on the current product listing. Review those terms carefully if you plan to use the theme on multiple projects.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was impressed by the speed and the range of layouts and options available. I also like how the theme provides different skins for different industries and topics.

It’s a useful starting point for many types of WordPress sites. You can customize layouts, colors, background images, and overall styling through the available admin settings and visual tools. Monstroid2 remains a capable option for users who want a multipurpose theme with pre-built designs, although you should verify its current compatibility with the latest WordPress, PHP, block-editor, and plugin versions before committing to it.

Compared with the original Monstroid theme, the setup and demo import process is more streamlined. It gives you plenty of options for customizing a site, but the number of bundled plugins can also increase maintenance and compatibility work. For that reason, it can still be a strong choice for a new project when the current package is actively maintained and fits your workflow—but I would test it on staging first rather than relying solely on the older demo experience.
